Clubhouse Policies

Dress Code

To ensure that our members and visitors feel at ease whilst visiting the Club we would ask that you please adhere to our dress code as outlined below.  We expect that all players wear an acceptable standard of attire both on the Links and in the Clubhouse.


ACCEPTABLE

Tailored shorts worn with either knee-length socks or sports socks.
Full length tailored trousers.
Smart collared shirt or polo shirts.


NOT ACCEPTABLE

Denim, combats, and jeans.
Sleeveless or collarless shirts including soccer/GAA/Rugby jerseys.
Untailored shorts and cargo shorts
Hooded sweatshirts.
Tracksuits
Trainers*, open toed sandals and shoes without socks.
Wearing of caps except when in the Locker Room or on the Links.

*Juniors may wear smart casual trainers.


Royal Dublin only permits soft spike golf shoes on the Links. In the Clubhouse golf shoes may only be worn in the Locker Room and the Moran Room.  Access to the Moran Room in golf shoes is only permitted via the external back stairs.

Formal jackets must be worn in the Christy O’Connor Room and Dining Room.  The jacket rule is relaxed for under eighteens during Sunday lunch in the Dining Room.

At formal Club dinners (i.e. Captain’s Supper, Captain’s Dinner, Captain’s Dinner for Five-Day Members, Captain’s Dinner for Junior Members, and President’s Dinner), a formal jacket and tie must be worn.  Formal jacket must be worn to all General Meetings of the Club e.g. AGM, EGM.

The Dress Code will be strictly enforced at all times by our staff and we would ask that you please comply with any instruction they provide in relation to the Dress Code.


Mobile Phones

In the Clubhouse if you wish to make a call on your mobile phone please do so in the Hall, Locker Room, or Memorabilia Room.  You may not make a phone call anywhere else in the Clubhouse or on the balcony.

The use of mobile phones on the links is not permitted, except in exceptional circumstances, i.e. medical emergencies or equipment breakdown.
